“If man only has the will to walk, then God is pleased with his stumbles.” – C S Lewis.
When choosing direction,
When pondering the call,
There’s no greater distraction
Than the thought you might fall.
~~~~~~~~
Hear the well-intentioned say:
Step out, there’s nothing to lose.
You’ll glorify Him anyway
No matter what you choose.
~~~~~~~~
Profession or passion,
Working woman or wife,
A thousand ways to fashion and
Spend your only life.
~~~~~~~~
But so many choices!
Such numerous roads!
A million other voices
While the confidence erodes.
~~~~~~~~
You’re struggling to prove
There is truth to your faith,
And there’s pressure to move
While He’s telling you, ‘wait’.
~~~~~~~~
So quiet all the noise,
Turn from demands,
Tune in to one voice
And hear His commands.
~~~~~~~~
Love people, leave sin,
For Christ forsake all –
Such a life lived for Him,
Perhaps that is all
~~~~~~~~
That matters in the end
When all is said and done.
Still have a life to spend,
But I’m free in His Son.
~~~~~~~~
I’m gonna get it wrong,
But that’s okay.
Through the One who is strong,
I’ll soon find the way.
~~~~~~~~
So why don’t we talk
Of the false starts and fumbles?
I have the will to walk,
And He’s pleased with my stumbles.
